About the Opportunity
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Accounting Manager to join the busy finance team in Port Macquarie, NSW.
Reporting to the Group Manager Financial Services, you will be primarily responsible for the preparation of Council’s annual budget and providing continuous financial management support to the organisation. You will be responsible for the consolidation of financial information into meaningful reports for senior managers which provide analysis, outcomes, options and recommendations linked to Council’s overall financial position. As the main contact point for budget queries, you will provide support to and assist service areas with budget projections, ongoing forecasting and variance analysis.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to the development of Council’s Long Term Financial Plan and other financial modelling as required
- Supporting month end and year end processes
- Providing advice on the financial viability of projects and policy proposals
- Delivering financial training initiatives in other areas of the Council
As this is a leadership role, you shall also be required to provide guidance and mentoring support to a small team.
This is a full time, 35 hour week role, with flexible work options and remuneration in the range of $104,614 – $117,747 per annum (depending on skills and experience), plus 9.5% superannuation.
A motor vehicle option will also be negotiated with the successful candidate.
